Sold to God

Elijah prophesied, in the name of the Lord, judgement to Ahab and his lineage.
(“Our decisions have descendant’s.”-Prophet Kim Clement. That’s another teaching for another time.)

Because Ahab “sold himself” to do wickedness before the Lord.

Sold himself.

Sold himself to fame, power, money.

So he could have what he thought he needed.

“And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money.

And Naboth said to Ahab, The Lord forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.

And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth….

And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.

So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.

And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:

And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die….

And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead.

And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it” (1 Kings 21:4-15).

Out of greed, wickedness, pride and human selfishness, Ahab allowed himself to heed to the killing Naboth and take his land.

He allowed his wife to perform this act.

He sold himself to be a slave of wickedness.

He sold himself to do evil works.

How many sell their soul to these things?

Sell their body–the temple of the Holy Ghost– use it for fleeting pleasures, empty sex, drugs, alcohol, feed it any way they desire, abuse it by exposing it to anyone, just so they can have the money, notoriety, or fame they think they needed to feel accepted, loved, honored?

Sell their gifts to create, build up companies, record labels and individuals whose actions confirm they hate God and do not honor him. But they sell on anyway because they need the money, exposure, acceptance, value of our gifts.

Sell their character, integrity by stealing, killing, lying, cheating, gaining riches wrought in deception, hypocrisy and blood.

When we sell our souls to these things we dishonor the sacrifice that has already been paid for our souls.

We steal what is not ours.

“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” – 1 Corinthians 6:20 (“God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world, 1 Corinthians 7:23).

The payment for our souls, bodies, spirits, back to our Creater, Savior, and King and Lord was the guiltless, spotless, sinless lamb, Jesus.

And when we sell, give up, and do what we desire, allowing Satan’s handiwork of evil to bind us.

We are stealing. We are looting from God Himself. Because we were made for Him, through Him, and by Him alone.

What can we do if we find ourselves, sold, to the things of this world?

What can we do when we find ourselves slaves to Satan’s devices ?

We can do what King Ahab did.

“And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

“Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son’s days will I bring the evil upon his house.”.  -1 Kings 21:26-29

King Ahab…humbled himself.

And God honored that.

“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” – James 4:10

When He sees we are ready to change, and willing to confess we are wrong, He is more than willing to forgive us. He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God will give us a fresh, clean slate.

And because he humbled himself, God made a promise to keep Ahab from the full payment of his sin.

How much more us, who have been washed with the precious blood of the Lamb? We are under a new covenant with God of better and stronger promises, more sure and secure; and as we resubmit under His authority, His Will, His Way, we give God honor and the ability to work in our lives and restore it.

Now, I will say this: God revealed to me that Ahab still dealt with the consequences of his sin. He was still conquered in battle, and his death still occurred the same way it was prophesied. (1 Kings 21:20-25 & 22:33-39) Every action has a reaction. Whatever you sow, you reap. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).

But again, God, in His infinite mercy, spared him from the full repercussion of it.

He is merciful.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.-James 4:10

There is a process to becoming completely whole, and free from the binds of sin. We may need to leave behind certain friends, give away or throw away objects or things once dear to us but detremential to our walk in Christ; we may need to renew our minds in certain areas, we may even need to leave everything behind that we can see and experience all the good things God had ins tore for us and get away from the negative influences that kept us bound in of the past.

When we repent, willingly and fully repent and walk away from our sins God will be happy to extend mercy to you.

God takes pleasure and joy forgiving and forgetting our sins.

No matter what we did, and what we have gone through because of it, God promises to show us mercy.

Because Mercy is Who He is.

God loves you and wants the very best for you, he does not want to see you bound to a system, a world that will not only abuse you but take you down to the very pits of hell. God wants to break the chains that bind you and restore to you everything that has been lost, even the things you lost because you were in sin. He wants you to spend eternity with Him and begin that journey here on earth.

Allow God to make you anew with His Word and His Presence. Confess your sins to Him and God will forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

God is willing and faithful.

So humble yourself. Serve God. Not man. Not the world. Not Satan. But God,  so that you may become free in Christ. He will rid you of the sins of the past, give grace and peace to go through the reprucussions of the present, then plentifully give you the faith, strength, freedom to move forward and face the future with Him and become all He created you to be.

Humble yourself. God will lift you up and cause you to have victory over sin and death by the strength of the covenant, sealed with the blood of His son.

Great Grace upon you. I will keep on writing this blog because God gives me strength to, that I may keep encouraging you too.

I love you all. God bless you, and have a wonderful weekend!
