I think this will encourage many of us who can feel guilty or condemned when we can’t or are not doing anything.
But the truth is no one is telling us it is okay to rest.
God is now.
God is encouraging you and I to rest in Him.
Recline in God’s Perfect Peace. Lay back and receive the comfort God gives.
Elevate your prayers to God. Lift them up to God. Cast your cares on Him.
Stand firm in God’s Promises to you.
Trusting in Him that everything God said is done. Everything God promised you is coming true.
You can find rest and peace in God.
But you have to let Him in, by being still.
And knowing He is God (Psalm 46:10).
It can be hard too, but you are able to lay down your burdens and find love, peace and joy, in Him. He knows all your problems. God knows all your fears. He is waiting for you to lay them down, and trust Him to pick them up for you.
Jesus urged us:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”– Matthew 11:28-30
God is saying for us to not believe the lies of the enemy. Stop worrying about what we can’t do, or should be doing, or would be doing….
We can’t be in peace…and we can not find joy in that.
Instead, rest and believe God this season.
Rest and find His strength in this season.
In Him, the joy of the Lord is your strength.
When you keep your mind focused on God, you have peace:
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength….”–Isaiah 26:3-5
Maybe you are finding it difficult to rest. It is okay. You are not the only one. God is helping me do so too.
I encourage you to read Hebrews 4.
This has given me a better understanding to why we have to rest, including the warnings that come with not taking time to rest.
Particularly Hebrews 4:10-11:
“For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”–Hebrews 4:10–11
Sometimes we have to labor into His rest.
If we do not, we run the risk of being like the Israelite’s, after being delivered from bondage. God intended for these precious chosen people of His to go through the valley, go through the trials, go through the tests, go through the wilderness. God wanted to strengthen their faith in HIM. Not in a unkind and cruel king like Pharaoh. Not in any kind of system, law or works. No HIM. God wants you and I to have faith IN Him. God made them go through this season, so they could learn to trust in God’s Promises every step of the way, so that they could finally enter into God’s resting place for them.
They kept going in circles. Searching for truth and immediate escape in their season of hardships and strengthening, only to succumb under the burden of works and bitterness.
I know we can get stuck in doing works–striving, and doing all that we can to do good for God. We think God only considers doing good.
Works….does not determine God’s Love for us.
And becoming jealous, bitter and hard-hearted in your season of developing your faith is going to keep you from God’s rest and God’s ultimate best for your life.
To keep from getting bitter, frustrated and hard-hearted toward this season of your life, other people…and even God….
We have to intentionally set apart time to spend time with God, reclining, being still, and resting in His Presence. If we do this, we will come to a place where we can rest in the truth that in every moment, of every day, even in the midst of problems, everyday activities, struggles, in the midst of distractions, pain, hurt, that God is on the Throne. God is The Creator. God is in Control. Don’t worry. Instead continually rest, rely, lay in His Promises, assured that God is going to make things right in your life and that everything is going to be okay.
Take time to be comforted.
You can’t be so busy to not take the time out of your day to Recline. Elevate. Stand. Trust God. He can help you with your troubles. He can supply all your needs. He can find the solutions you need to overcome your obstacles and fears.
When you keep your eyes on Him, God keeps You in His Peace, because He is Peace. (Isaiah 9:6).
God loves you.
God LOVES YOU.
And I love you too.
I pray He continues to keep you grounded. I pray God gives you the peace and courage, to not only trust Him but walk and live in Him and with Him by faith.
I ask you God to please help those who read this to wholeheartedly find comfort and strength in you. God I pray we all intentionally make time to rest in you and with you in prayer. Father, I pray, that we truly believe in You and trust You every moment of every day–and we continue to walk in this peace, and walk in Your Love every day.
In Jesus Name I pray,
Rest in God’s Word. Rest in His Promises. Rest in His Favor. Rest in this season.
Rest in His Love for you.
May God help you create space to rest in this season.
God bless you,
I love you,
