This is a Season of Rest

This is a season of rest.

Rest from work.

Rest from striving.

Rest from doing things in your own strength.

Rest from depending on man made systems.

Resting in God’s Love for you and God’s Best from you.

Rest from always doing.

But resting into being.

Being who God called you to be.

Rest in His Perfect Will for you.

Rest in His initial desire for you.

Resting in the truth:

He wants for you to receive.

And receive from Him alone.

Sometimes we think we should be doing for the Lord all the time.

We think this is the way that we get to know God more, or get favor or blessings from Him.

It’s not true.

The only thing that happens is that we get weary and worn out.

He wants you and I to do is,

These two tactics of receiving or winning approval from God is best displayed in the account recorded in Luke 10:38-42:

38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

We have deceived ourselves into thinking we can be a blessing to the Lord only when we are serving Him by doing deeds. We have allowed Satan to deceive us and distract us with all forms of activities that we think we earn God’s favor, blessings, and deliverance.

No, not at all.  Lies, all lies.

God is blessed when we do things for His purpose, and for His glory. But what we can learn from Martha is that we give God the most honor, the most praise, we please Him the most when we understand what God desires is for us to be able to receive, grow and learn from Him. We can only do that if we can sit down, relax, cease from our works, and rest.

I can say, at least for myself, in this time, God has showed me that I have been working for His approval, forcing and trying to make things happen on my own. Relying and depending on man’s systems and my own effort for God to bless and receive blessings from the Lord. It can be taxing on the heart, body and mind, especially spirit. I was being and prideful….and wrong.

I have begun to accept God’s Will for me by giving into His Love for me and allowing Him to heal me by entering into rest. Relying and depending only on Him to provide, come through, and help me overcome my fears and trials.

“God desires for you to completely trust and look to Him alone for all things. Once the Lord has stripped you of relying on yourself and the world and has strengthened your faith to believe He is going before you, supplying all your needs, you will enter into greater peace and rest.”–Rabbi K.A. Schneider, “Awakening to Messiah”

You will never enter into rest, until you learn how to take a step back, and trust Him entirely with everything.

Falling back into His embrace, giving God the opportunity to heal your heart and heal your soul.

And rest.

Thank you for helping me accept what I can not change,

Accept what did not happen,

What could have happened,

What I wanted to happen,

And give you praise, glory, and honor for giving me and placing the opportunities and blessings before me,

Thank you for helping me receive Your best for me,

Forgive me for wrestling so long with You.

Thank you for your mercy.

Thank you for helping me understand, and accept what you have placed before me now, filling myself up with Your Word,

so I can be used by You to give life and hope to others.

Thank you for helping me receive all that you have called me to do,

and become all that you desire me to be during this season.

Thank you for helping me understand, and accept what you have placed before me now, filling myself up with Your Word.

Help me to rest from work and striving,

And I take refuge in you.

God, I love you.

Thank you for giving me grace to receive Your glory, Your healing peace and Your Word so we can, together, continue to speak truth with nothing wavering, unfeigned,

Completely pure, giving freely Your living water to all who will hear and receive.

So they can come to know You and Your Son in a deeper, personal, more intimate way….and believe Your Word…forevermore.

God bless you all,

God loves you,

I love you.

Have a great weekend and rest.
