Loving Others

“Love is not boastful or proud. – 1 Corinthians 13:4, NLT
When you look to give people unconditional love, pride will not work.
All pride is insecurity. We trick ourselves into being proud or “secure” alone in your accomplishments and use this insecurity to demean or look down on others. We’re “secure” in these things because we think we can not rely on God to be secure in. We’re scared of admitting that we can’t rely on ourselves…. because we can disappoint people….including ourselves.
The good thing is…
God’s Love for us is perfect. He gives our heart security to rest in, completely dissolves the shame and pride, and can continue to heal insecurity, when we let go of our own inadequacies.

How do I love others?

As I have come to understand and am embracing this now more and more:

We can’t love others until we experience God’s Perfect Love for ourselves.

We love because He first loved us.–1 John 4:19

His Love triumphs all…even our mistakes, our disappointments, heartache, and shame.
And learning how to love, without expecting anything in return will probably be the highest act of service I can do for God.

There’s no need to prove His Love for you.

No need to try and prove your worth to anyone.

He loves you. Completely. Irrevocably. Unconditionally. Stop trying to prove to others and yourself that He does.

He loves you. Let Him love you.

Help me Lord,

To learn how to love others.

Just as you love me.

In Jesus Name,

I have much to learn about loving others, especially the family of God…but I am willing to learn from Jesus.

I encourage you to too.

John 17:20-23

“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; 21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.
22 The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; 23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.”–Jesus

Have a great week everyone. Remember, that God is with you–and I pray that you embrace His Perfect Love for you in your heart and that you and I will grow in understanding how to love others.

Thank you Lord…amen.

Thank you for reading my blog! God bless you, and I pray this helps you keep walking faithfully with The Lord and learn how to love others like He does…every day.

  1. Very good post. Yes, it is about love. My prayer is Make Us One, Lord, so that we can love each other and truly “see” each other’s humanity. Thank you Lord. I believe that love must start with acknowledging that we are all human beings in need of God’s love. Remember that no one is perfect, and do not let stereotypes be used to setermine the value of knowing others viewed as different. Thanks of reminding me to love freely and authentically.

    • It is…and it’s hard if you don’t know the Lord. But the minute we turn our hearts to Jesus and start learning how He lived and loved, we then can love others from the overflow of His love for us. Isn’t He amazing? Thank you for sharing your heart. I know it is such a blessing to read and listen from you. God bless you.
