1 Exposed to the possibility of being attacked or harmed, either physically or emotionally (Oxford Dictionary, 2018).
Vulnerability is exposure.
Most exposure if not in the right hands
and damage. However, in the right hands–restoration.
Acknowledgement is the first step of healing with The Lord.
“Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,
And in the hidden part, You will make me to know wisdom.”
And you are already exposed–
All your past, present, and future, shame, guilt, sin and pain are laid out before Him.
He sees every mistake, failure, and the wrong done to you by others, and by you to others.
He sees the war in your soul,
And the secrets you have buried deep in your heart.
And yet, God still desires us to acknowledge and confess the truth.
Because He will not force you and me to acknowledge and confess our sin. However, He desires for us and shows us that He does.
By acknowledgement and confession:
We are not hiding anymore.
We identify the wall between us and Him,
Reveal the pain in our souls,
And reveal our trust and reverence for Him. For we realize, by acknowledging our sins and confessing to Him–that He is The Only One That Can Save.
He is The One Who we have sinned against.
That He is The Only God in our lives, and we are only answerable to Him.
Here, with God, you will find safety, peace, comfort, healing, and joy.
“Restore unto me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.” Psalm 51:12, NLT
Here, there will be no shame inflicted, no penance for your sins–just gentle correction, wisdom to follow His Will, strength to walk it out and abounding love.
We are all sinners, by birth.
However, we have a Savior, and Lord
Who has given up His life for us.
So when we sin, we can confess them and be forgiven.
And be free from it once and for all.
But once you realize He knows every detail of your story–
You will be willing to acknowledge and confess all.
Acknowledge your sin, your pain, your “secrets” to the Lord.
He will forgive you, cleanse you, restore you–and make you new (Psalm 51).
Take some time with The Lord today, and ask Him what are some areas of your life you are keeping from Him? What are some secret things you have been afraid to come to Him about?
Open your Bible to Psalm 51:6
And whatever comes to mind, write it down.
We all endure painful secrets, and sin that needs to be eradicated. By doing this, you will know what it is, be able to acknowledge, confess, and ask for forgiveness so you can now move forward with God. He will heal you, and restore your broken heart (Psalm 147:7 & Psalm 34:18).
It is not easy. But His Grace is sufficient–His strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Lord, help us to be real, open, and honest with you so that You will find truth in our hearts–and bring healing to our souls. I ask you to give us strength as You lead us to acknowledge and confessings sins, and past painful experiences we have been too ashamed, angry, or weak to come to You about. Anchor Your Words in our hearts. Never will you leave us, never will you forsake us as we pray for wholeness in our souls.
I pray the powers of darkness have power no more over me, and all those who may read this letter. We walk in victory from here on out.
In the Name of Jesus, I pray,
